For organizations that conduct human genome sequencing, procurement plays an important role in evaluating equipment, software, cloud services, and vendors before a purchase or transaction is made. Texas H.B. 130 requires organizations to avoid certain genome sequencing technologies and software associated with foreign adversaries and to ensure that genomic data is stored and managed in compliance with statutory requirements.
